HISTORY TRANQUILLITY AND CIDER
Melbourne, offers a unique blend of history and modernity. Set against the backdrop of a working orchard and rolling farmlands, this private estate comprises a beautifully restored 1860s bluestone homestead nestled within a serene garden adorned with captivating water features and views of a vast spring-fed dam.
The property was first settled by Scottish-born brothers, Thomas and Sommerville Learmonth in the mid 1800 as an outpost for sheep grazing and formed part of the larger Ercildoune Estate. It has changed hands several times since the 1800s. Much of the original farming equipment found on the property has now been placed undercover in the ‘homestead museum’ to ensure it doesn’t deteriorate further.
With over 1000 heritage apple trees scattered across various orchards on the property, guests staying in the homestead will have the opportunity to sample some of our Award Winning Apple Cider blended from the apples grown on the estate.
